Persol is not only happy, but proud to accept that the reputation it enjoys in the 2020s is in most ways a direct result of what it was doing in the 1960s. And what they were doing in the 1960s was making designs like this and a handful of others that were to set them up for decades to follow. The 60 years worth of hindsight in between has enabled us all to assess that for what it is. That is what differentiates something as an icon, it reverberates in a way that is exponential rather than linear and such is the case with these stalwart sunglasses.
Consequently Persol have yet to make a sunglass model that's cooler than this one.
As ever the signature Persol metal arrow on the corners, 2 barrel patented flexi temple springs and real glass lenses which is now a specialist product in today's market that's exponentially more expensive than plastics in exactly the same way as laminate vs wooden flooring/worktops etc.
Full UV protection.
Used in good overall condition. The print on the inside arms is entirely worn away so this may not be suitable for collectors.
Some surface marks on the lenses. They don't upset the wearing enjoyment but need mentioning.
• frame width (outside widest point): 143mm
