Eley Kishimoto's collab with Linda Farrow Gallery produced some memorable high points and this model is foremost among them. Already a collectors grail, Linda Farrow has been laying the path for future collectors by assembling a roster of the who's who in the design world to ensure what in any other fashion context, it would seem embarrassing to say, will achieve immortality. Those collabs include Jeremy Scott, Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Dries Van Noten, Matthew Williamson, The Row etc. Need we say more. No; but we will.
Linda Farrow has had a number of stages so far, beginning in 1970 until the founder retired in the 1980's. This period is best known for the legendary Model 6031 worn by Scarface himself in the cult movie. The second phase of the brand was a re-launch by her son, some 15 years after she retired.
This later pair is in keeping with the original flair and ingenuity of the brand and Eley Kishimoto would've had a clear sense of that history when designing this pair. They surely have a hyper real atmosphere that might be described as what a super hero would wear on their day off to pretend not to be noticeable. and presumably that s why anyone comes in search of this kind of highly specialized taste instead of going to mediocre sunglasses hut type of outlets.
