The Alain Mikli company changed direction in the 90s away from their more outrageous 80s offerings towards a comparatively conservative form that led to generally more wearable designs like this one, but that still retain the inspirational flashes of ingenuity. In this instance it's a handsome clear acetate infused with brown patterns that can only be described as appearing like artistic wood grain. Also they have a very low profile wrap around shape in a half frame that is similar to speed racer goggles from the 60s but shrunken down to typical 90s dimensions.
There is no vulgar branding with the logo printed and stamped inside the right arm only. Exterior crests would have interfered with the effect of the patterns. Ideal for someone who wants a top tier boutique brand without needing to announce to the world where it's come from.
