The Linda Farrow company has forged it's niche via a persistent programme of collaborations with professional designers who are very good at what they do. They include Jeremy Scott, Alexander Wang, Phillip Lim, Dries Van Noten, Erdem, Matthew Williamson, The Row, Opening Ceremony, Luella etc etc. This dramatic cat eye design was done by the ever titillating Agent Provocateur. They are of course essentially a high end lingerie company who do other accompanying accessories like these glasses. Their aesthetic is coming from the vintage pin up tradition and that obviously leads to the sexy cat eye sooner or later. However they wanted to update that format so these are finished with rounded studs instead of the traditional diamantes and the sides have curvy notches. AP have a substantial following of fetish enthusiasts too and these glasses have clear lenses to wear as a pure fashion accessory that would serve as an attention grabbing magnet at those peoples events. Moreover they have a superior standard of production made in Japan by Linda Farrow so they can be worn for everyday optical use as the finish is very convincing up close and this is important to be able to carry off this type of outlandish look. They were produced in quantities that are quite small and consequently assist them in charging extremely handsome prices { and let's be clear for the casual browsers, that price, is not in the high end definition that many people have, ie; over £300 range, it is comfortably twice that much } so these are for collectors to snatch for this modest price.
