The 90s saw an emergence of fetish aesthetics from out of the private dungeons into the mainstream that even included the likes of Madonna and it found its way down to a belt like this. In this particular case the quality is of a superior made in Italy standard by obscure brand Imperial. And that is important for the durability and overall convincingness because the vinyl and rubber substitutes for leather that were a complete craze in the 90s can literally disintegrate and fall apart in the decades since and we have seen countless examples of that. It is based on the far taller and thicker military belt that has a shoulder strap going diagonally across the shoulder and attaching at the back and that is why it has the 2 loop attachers which are not fixed. They could be cit off to achieve a clan shiny belt look that would then be able to fit inside belt loops. The solid buckle is impressive and is almost what you would expect to see on mountaineering gear.
