When sunglasses began their journey into more general usage about 150 years ago, they looked pretty much like this format, as they were always, metal, oval, rectangular or round and fairly small. Living proof that a good idea never dies, these minimal shades have an imposing presence which is hardly surprising given the amount of history behind them. This is partly due to the slightly widened bridge that overcomes the fundamental problem of this style of sunglass always looking too small. Consequently the format is re-balanced and as a result the nose pads are exposed as a feature.
