This simple design was done in typical 90s fashion when many brands were looking at early 20thC shapes for inspiration . Needless to say they don't then need to worry if the product will stand the test of time since it's effectively done so already. In this case the dimensions are are fairly conservative but the lack of branding on the outside combined with the stark plain black and shiny surface create a much stronger effect than it would seem from the pictures.
