It's not that often that people in the vintage business would get involved in the debate about the relative value of kitsch or novelty items versus the true vintage etc etc. But this is an unusual case because it's obviously made for women, as opposed to being for football hooligans trying to hide from surveillance. That places it squarely in the realm of the 90s surge in Britpop culture which at it's core, had the good old Union Jack as the branding focus, exactly as punk did in the 70s. This was specifically utilised by the Spice Girls at the time to help promote themselves with the 'girl power' idea and that is where these unusual shades are coming from.
The arms and browline have a clever series of round indentations to catch the light in such a way as to appear like diamantes and the ear bends have been thoughtfully matched in a baby blue.
The lenses have tiny pixillated squares printed directly on to them to make the pattern, so we definitely wouldn't recommend them for driving unless it's a rollercoaster.
Unused NOS in good condition except for a couple of tiny areas of the print are missing as in the last picture.
